Prior to watching the Republican vice presidential candidate's speech tonight, I knew nothing about her. After watching Governor Palin's speech, I can honestly report that I still know nothing about her. Wait! That's not quite right! After once again reminding us that John McCain is a war hero (in case we forgot), here's what I found out about Gov. Palin:
- She is a MOM.
- She has family members who are, or have been, enlisted in the military.
- She is a MOM.
- She has daughters.
- She is a MOM.
- She has a "special needs" child.
- She is a hockey MOM.
- She is a member of the PTA.
- She is a WOMAN.
- She and her husband are regular folk, high school sweethearts "from a small town."
After running off this list of "qualifiers" to be vice president, Gov. Palin then proceeded to attack Barack Obama. Yes, we knew that she would attack her opponent, but not with this speech or at least not with the majority of it! Honestly, this speech (and this entire night of the convention) was about Senator Obama. Correction: Senator Obama AND how John McCain is a war hero (did you forget?). I sincerely wanted to get to know Gov. Palin tonight and feel that I was robbed of that opportunity! Before you can tell me what you're going to do or even how the other candidate is the wrong choice, first you need to tell me who YOU are! Gov. Palin, you failed us in this respect!
You can read Gov. Palin's speech in it's entirety here or watch it below:
After reading or watching Gov. Palin's speech and all of Wednesday's convention speakers, did you come away with the message that you are NOT an American? Not a REAL American anyway, like Gov. Palin and those of the conservative right. You know, people from "small town" America with "family values" and who "always love America" (they even show it by chanting "USA! USA! USA!" every five minutes). If you didn't, here are a few pictures to help you out. Pay attention. These are what real Americans look like and what real Americans do.

THANK YOU CONSERVATIVES!
Thank you for reminding me who the real Americans are!
(How foolish it was of me to think that WE ARE ALL AMERICANS!)
