Last week, news broke that President-Elect Obama is considering Senator Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State. Family, I haven't spoken on this matter sooner because I still don't know how I feel about it. Seriously!
Due to Senator Clinton's actions during the primaries, I am no longer a fan of hers. Sadly, her character will always be in question for me. With that said, I respect Obama's choice and understand it. She is qualified for the position and appointing her to it will go a long way in building bridges, fostering greater communication and understanding among multiple factions in the White House, and ensure that a diversity of viewpoints is always present.
President-Elect Obama is also rumored to be considering New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson for the position. Personally, I'd love to see Gov. Richardson in the post. Such a position is custom tailored to his intellectual depth and international experience. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all turns out!
