WASHINGTON - Earlier this week, I brought you news that Roland Burris was headed to Washington to "take his Senate seat." Mr. Burris was appointed as President-Elect Barack Obama's Senate seat replacement by disgraced Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.
Upon arriving to the Capitol Tuesday, Mr. Burris was turned away and not permitted to be sworn in alongside his colleagues. The reason given: His credential papers were not in order due to the absence of the Illinois Secretary of State's signature (a signature that the Secretary refused to give, by the way). Of course, we all know the real reason Mr. Burris was denied entrance.
Here's a brief clip of Mr. Burris' response to being blocked.
