BUFFALO - Last Sunday, police were called to the home of a 53-year-old Niagara Falls woman. Apparently, the woman placed a "Whites Only" sign outside her home where she rents three rooms. Specifically, the sign read as follows:
“I rent three bedrooms at [her address] to white people Niagara Falls.”
When police demanded that the woman remove the sign, she said that she did it because someone tried to break into her home. She also added, "I can do what I want. I live in America." Source
This incident came just two days after a man was sentenced to probation and community service for placing a "Whites Only" sign on a drinking fountain in a public works garage. Is it just me or does Niagara Falls seem to be going back in time, specifically to the 1960s?
