As all of you know - and the mainstream media won't let us forget - reality star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from her NBA beau Kris Humphries last Monday, a lengthy 72 days after the couple said their wedding vows.
The "public" reason given for the divorce is that Mr. Humphries wanted to eventually live and raise children in Minnesota while Ms. Kardashian wished to remain in her native Los Angeles. I highly doubt this is the real reason for the split as it seems like a matter the couple would've discussed and worked out long before their nuptials.
No, I think the couple split for other reasons. Until the true reason is known, however, the greater public will likely continue to believe the marriage was always a sham, no more than a publicity stunt and ploy to earn a multi-million dollar payday.
As I said on my Facebook page a few days ago, I genuinely respected Ms. Kardashian's business hustle. There was no hating here. However, with her quickie marriage and even quicker divorce I'm left scratching my head, left to wonder if the drive for money and fame has surpassed and even replaced genuine human emotion and desires. You know, the things money can't buy.
Oh, well. I'll never know and really don't care at this point. Other than this SNL spoof, I'm officially over the Kardashian/Humphries divorce and 24-hour news cycle about it. How about you?
